Sale of Land by Willis, Thomas to Haddon, John, 1700

 File — map-case: Q-4, drawer: 2

Scope and Contents

Indenture of Thomas Willis of Rotherhithe to John Haddon. 100 acres of land formerly belonging to Richard Matthews, and then to William Lovejoy; and 50 acres of land formerly belonging to Thomas Matthews, bought from Edward Billings and others. The land was in the shape of a triangle, extending from Cooper's Creek to the property of Francis Collings. This deed explains Elizabeth Haddon's journey to America, including that her father agreed to take possession of the property six months after signing, and that Elizabeth would be the one to take that possession.
