The letters in this file were addressed to Morris by the following merchants and mercantile firms in Providence, Rhode Island: Jenkins & Man (dyestuffs, textiles, information about Isaac Bowen), B. & Thomas C. Hoppin & Co. (information about Jenkins & Man), John F. Sheldon (sending drafts for discount and asking Morris to invest proceeds in corn and flour; sending rum, molasses, and tea by Sloop "Lively"), Hartshorne & Arnold, Joseph Munton (purchase of bills), Jeremiah Monroe (mackerel and flour), Jenkins & Jones (freight for Sloop "Joseph"), Isaac Bowen Jr. (flour), George Wheedon & Co. (candles and glass), John Wheeler, Walter Peirce (dissolved connection with Mr. J. Bickrell), William Dabney (cheese and mackerel), and John Studley (request for a bill of lading).
