Info Projects 82-1 to 82-32. Raymond Baco, a HC freshman, to be featured in two television programs relating to his legal blindness and the fact that he is the first successful wearer of specifically designed "honeybee lenses" (82-4). The Atlantic Richfield Foundation awards HC $50,000 in unrestricted funds (82-9). HC creates memorial fund in honor of Andrew David Silk, a 1976 graduate of Haverford College, and will establish an annual summer internship in journalism (82-11). HC President Robert Stevens "deplores" the Regan Administration's proposed cuts to student aid and research funding (82-13). Professor Colin MacKay awarded the John Farnum Professorship of Physics and Chemistry (82-16). HC receives $400,000 grant from the Pew Memorial Trust to aid the College's Biology Development Program and energy conservation measures on campus (82-19). William Morris Maier, emeritus member of the HC Board of Managers, passed on March 11, 1982 at his home (82-21). Felix M. Morley, president of HC from 1940 to 1945, died March 13, 1982 (82-22). Abigail Adams is the first Haverford woman to win the Watson Fellowship (82-28). Alfred Essa also selected for the Watson Fellowship (82-29). No 82-30. The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust in Rosemont, PA, grants HC $40,000 to help the College maintain its financial aid policy (82-31). Honorary commencement honorees for Spring 1982 include Nomzamo Winnie Mandela, wife of Nelson Mandela, Emily Hartshorne Mudd, and Henry Oldfield Selz (82-32).
