Info Projects 82-32 to 82-65. Continuation of 82-32, specifically the press distribution lists (82-32). Kevin Bishop, a HC junior, awarded $32,000 Beinecke Memorial Scholarship, making him one of five Beinecke Scholars nationwide (82-34). Christian and Mar Lindback Foundation Distinguished Teachers for 1981-1982 are John Spielman, Claude Wintner, and Ronald Thiemann at HC (82-36). No 82-37. American and foreign scholars to convene at HC to discuss "Africana Philosophy" for the first time ever in the United States (82-39). HC receives $200,000 challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation to help complete the rennovation and expansion of HC's biology facilities (82-41). HC biology professor Dietrich Kesler receives Fulbright Grant to conduct research in single cell motility at the University of Bonn in West Germany in the 1982-1983 academic year (82-42). HC and University of Pennsylvania cooperate on the Liberal Arts Engineering Program, which will allow students to transfer to UPenn from HC after three years, and after two more years at UPenn, they will receive a degree in engineering from UPenn and a B.A or B.S. from HC (82-43). No 82-44. Timur Galen, class of 1978 and an architecture and engineering student at UPenn, awarded a Luce Fellowship for a year of graduate study (82-45). Donald Ratajczak, HC cass of 1964 and one of the nation's leading economic forecasters, to speak at HC in conjunction with the college's 150th birthday celebration (82-52). John B. Jones elected the new Chairman of the Board of Managers, and new members join the Board (82-57). HC announces a capital drive to raise $20 million over two years for several urgent needs, including endowment, renoation and building funds, and to operate (82-58). No 82-60 or 82-61. Betty Ricciardi, assistant treasurer of the Corporation of Haverford College, retires after 28 years in service to the college (82-63). Chemical Bank and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation make grants to Haverford totalling $55,000 (82-64).
