Info Projects: 71-68 to 72-4. William E. Sheppard II, Director of Alumni Affairs for HC and editor-in-chief of the Fund Raising Institute, died at his home in Plymouth Meeting on October 22, 1971, at age 57 (71-70). Mrs. Mamie Phipps Clark, Robert MacCrate, Chalmers V.A. Pittman, and Professor W. Wistar Comfort all named to the Board of Managers of HC (71-71 and 71-72 and 71-73). Information about the Durer Festival at HC (71-74). Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges receive $75,000 fund from the Richard King Mellon Foundation to further develop their inter-college cooperation (71-75). Richard J. Bernstein receives $18,000 senior fellowship from National Endowment of the Humanities to support his authorship of a book on social inquiry (71-78A). Durer Exhibit to open Sunday, December 5, 1971 (71-82). "Stendhal", a study of that French author by Professor Marcel Gutwirth, was published in NYC (71-85). Douglas A. Nichols, a junior at HC, named to Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference's small college All-Star Football team (71-88). New courses on urban housing, study of Black history through folklore, etc are new courses to be offered at HC for the Spring 1972 semester (71-89). Paul H. Haagen, a senior at HC, named one of 32 U.S. college students to receive Rhodes scholarships for post-graduate studies at Oxford University (72-4).
