Biographical / Historical
Cremona Satterthwaite was enslaved by the Morrey family but was freed in 1715 by Richard Morrey, and afterwards she continued to work in the Morrey household as a servant. She became romantically involved with Richard Morrey, and the couple had five children. Though they could not legally wed, they were known as a couple.
