Info Projects 84-1 to 84-25. HC receives gift of $2,000 from Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company (84-2). Angela Davis, a notable Black feminist, to discuss "Women, Race, and Gender" at Haverford College's Second Annual Feminist Symposium on Friday, February 3, 1984 (84-5). HC receives a $250,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation (84-7). HC receives donation of $50,000 from the PQ Corporation of Valley Forge, PA, to establish a Scientific Equipment Challenge Fund in honor of HC's 150th Birthday (84-8). Haverford College jazz concerts to be aired by Voice of America radio stations (84-9). Natalie Ross, an actress that plays Enid Nelson on the soap opera "All My Children", to visit HC to speka on "Acting on Stage and Television" (84-11). Swarthmore and Haverford Colleges, representing themselves and Oberlin and Earlham Colleges, submit a brief to the Supreme Court on the Solomon Amendment, explaining why the law "denying federal student aid to young men who refuse to register for the draft is unconstitutional" (84-12). Nobel Laureate George Wald, Higgins Professor of Biology Emeritus at Harvard University, to lecture at Haverford College (84-16). National Science Foundation Fellowships awarded to multiple Haverford College students (84-19). No 84-20. Richard Hardack and David A. Levenstein win NEH Fellowships (84-21 and 84-22). HC physics professor Jerry P. Gollub awarded Guggenheim Fellowship (84-23). No 84-24. HC Junior Elizabeth Mintz elected co-president of the Students Association along with David Berque, becoming the first co-ed team to win the Presidency (84-25).
