 Item — Box: 7

Scope and Contents

Letter: Burlington, N.J., to Amzi Dodd, 1823-1913, Newark, N.J.

ALS. Cuyler writes to a college friend about friends and acquaintances, especially those who are pastors. "I heard a superb sermon from Addison lately at Green's installation in Philadelphia. The next day Dr. Cox let off his broadside at the opening of the New School Assembly . . . Cox must be a great man in order to live above his perpetual indiscretions and absurdities." Cuyler also mentions news he has heard from Princeton. "That Princeton faculty is not what it was when we were there . . . Yale is the college now."
