Scope and Contents
Although deposited by the Quarterly Meeting, these are primarily related to Salem Monthly Meeting. Includes disownments for military service, non-attendance at meeting, drinking alcohol, fighting, marrying out, and "practicing vain amusements" [pre-marital sex, gambling]. File also includes the acknowledgements of members who were found to have acted outside of Discipline but submitting formal apology, for offenses including adultery, drinking, gambling, marrying out, and serving in the military.
