Biographical / Historical
Henry Miller with his wife and four children emigrated from Bredninth, England, to America, receiving a certificate from Minehead Monthly Meeting to Chester MM in 1714. He purchased acreage in Upper Providence from Randall Malin and other land owners. Henry Miller died in 1732, and his family is buried in the Media Cemetery, reinterred from Sandy Bank Cemetery in Media. Daughter Dorothy (1706-1771) left the bulk of her estate to brother Henry Miller (1710-1777) who had inherited his father's land in Upper Providence. Henry was reported several times in the records of Chester Monthly Meeting for drunkenness, but remained a member.
