The letters in this file were addressed to Morris by the following merchants and mercantile firms from various locales: Moses Carlton (Wiscasset, Maine), Joshua A. Sabins (New Castle, Delaware), James Barker (Nantucket, Massachusetts), William Battell (Norfolk, Connecticut), James P. Morris (son of Anthony Morris, Bristol), James Southwick (Mendon, Massachusetts), D. Wilson (Cantwells Bridge, Delaware), Isaac W. Morris (Morris's uncle, Easton, Pennsylvania), W. Simmons Jr. (Schooner "Columbia" off Port Penn), Hugh Smith & Co. (Alexandria, Virginia), Isaac Champlin (Wilmington, Delaware), D. Pendleton (Delaware), John S. Whitall (Woodbury), George Poe Jr. (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), Hartley Crawford (Chambersburg, Pennsylvania), and M.B. Latimer (Baltimore, Maryland). There is also one letter from Rebecca Nourse, Morris's cousin, from Morrisville, New Jersey.
