This file contains materials pertaining to Luke W. Morris's guardianship of the children of Caleb Cresson. Several receipts relate to the death of Deborah Ann Cresson in 1823, including bills from Sarah Osborne directed to Mary Cresson, Deborah Ann Cresson's mother, "for laying out and attending the funeral of daughter Debby-Ann" and for the purchase of white crepe, white ribbon, and five yards of cambric muslin. There are also bills sent to Morris for digging a grave, inviting guests to the burial, hiring a horse for the hearse, and purchasing a mahogany coffin. Other materials in this file relate to declarations of insolvency by several tenants renting propery owned by the Cresson children. There are also bills for Clement Cresson's tuition, Clement and Sarah Cresson's board, work on houses belonging to the Cresson children, and medical treatment. Finally there is are queries regarding the Cresson estate and Joseph R. Ingersoll's respose.
