Biographical Note
Philip G. Altbach was a student at the University of Chicago (AB, 1962; AM, 1963; PhD, 1966) and served as the general chairperson of the Student Peace Union and a member of the National Council of Liberal Religious Youth. Altbach is a pacifist, a conscientious objector, and a member of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR), War Resisters League (WRL), and the Jewish Peace Fellowship.
Altbach has wrote his tehsis on the history of the American peace movement, 1900-1962, and many articles on peace.
