Scope and Contents
Eleanor's sister, Sarah Louise Collins (1894-1976), married N. Pen Davis in 1919. Nathaniel Penistone Davis (May 1, 1895 – September 12, 1973) was a career diplomat, serving as Ambassador to Costa Rica, 1947-1949; Minister to Hungary, 1949-1951. He spent more than 32 years in the Foreign Service and was named chief of the Division of Foreign Service Personnel in 1945. He also served in Berlin, London and Pernambuco, Brazil.
