Letter: Philadelphia, Pa., to Samuel M. Barclay, Esq., Harrisburg, Pa.
ALS. Informs Barclay that the article he requested had to be procured in New York and then sent to him. Cope also laments: "We have fallen upon evil times--such a President and such a governor!!!" He also mentions that Robert Vaux only received 5 of 61 votes in an election of the Institution for the Benefit of the Blind: "Deduct his own vote and he is at a greater discount than... Safety Fund Bank Notes."
