Info Projects 79-61 to 79-93. Steven Hoffman, David Hamilton, and Michael Lewis awarded prestigious grants (79-61 through 79-63). Kamran Khan, cricket coach at Haverford College, to be a member of the first American team ever to compete for the World Cup in cricket (79-66).No 79-69. Emilio W. Cividanes, a HC senior, wins a Watson Fellowship for a year's travel and study outside of the United States (79-72). Rich Pressler, sophomore at HC, pitched the first no-hitter in the College's history against Johns Hopkins (79-74). Haverford wins the Hood Trophy for the first time in ten years, after defeating Swarthmore (79-77). The first women transfer students graduate from Haverford in spring of 1979 (79-78). Ray Lemisch finishes the 1979 lacrosse season as the scoring champion of the Middle Atlantic Conference (79-80). Edgar S. Rose named the Francis B. Gummere Professor of English at HC (79-81). Over $1,200 to be donated to the Leukemia Society following a 24-hour basketball marathon held at HC (79-82). Professor of chemistry Colin F. MacKay named acting provost of HC (79-83). Varsity sports hometown releases (79-85). Heller Memorial Fund established to provide an annual prize and scholarship to HC students who have worked in research or social service with neurologically-impaired people (79-87). HC junior Eric William Sedlak awarded a scholarship for summer study in West Germany (79-88).
