Colophon
Colophon on last page, translated by Dr. David Cook (2009):
"May Moshe rejoice in his portion.
I, Shmuel HaSofer (scribe) Al-Faruni, wrote this Bible for the fine young man, Moshe, son of Rav Avraham Kaldish and completed it in the month of Elul of the year 5227 [1467-1468] since the creation of the world, in the town of Elvas/ May God allow him to frequently concern himself and consider them and fulfill such: 'Let not this Book of Teaching cease from your lips, but recite it day and night, so that you may observe faithfully all that is written in it. Only then will you prosper in your undertakings and only then will you be successful. I charge you: Be strong and resolute; do not be terrified or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.'"*
