Scope and Contents
A coin issued in 1882 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of William Penn’s arrival in America. Front of coin depicts Penn, his name, and the year “1682.” Back of coin depicts the words and image of the state seal of Pennsylvania as well as the words “Distributed by employes [sic] of U.S. Mint during the celebration of Pennsylvania’s Bi-Centennial” and “Oct. 24, 1882.”
