Scope and Contents
A towel presented to William Allinson (1766-1841) in 1812. The thread was spun and the towel was woven by a student at Tunesassa, the boarding school for Indigenous children run by Quakers. Inked on the towel: “N. H. This towel was spun and woven by an Indian --- instructed by --- Thomas at Tunesassa and presented by him to William Allinson 1812.” Some brown spots and damage.
