Job Scott Collins (1795-1870) Letter. Jerusalem, Va. 7 mo. 16, 1849 -A letter to his wife, Ruth Collins, about his travels to Virginia, speaks of how a planter lost 20 people he enslaved and suspended labor on his plantation, mentions the free produce system and how it is the best plan to remove the “eavel of slavery”, talks about the kindness of the enslaved people and enslavers to the travelling party -also with note from Abigail F. Cornell to Ruth Collins
