Allinson, William J[ames] 1810-1874. Love letter to Rebecca W. Hinchman. Burlington, 2mo. 9, 1839. 9 items Certificate of clearness from Burlington M.M., for W. J. Allinson to marry member of Abington M.M., 7mo. 1, 1839. * Copy of a long poem, “Divers Gifts. A rhyme for the times,” about doctrinal differences among Friends. Inscribed, “Copied for William Allinson.”



Additions: 2 letters to “Dear Sister,” 5mo. 11, 1855-1mo. 14, 1868. [Gives news of self, family, and friends] Also, letter, unsigned, undated, addressed to [“My dr brother,” (probably 1861) which discusses Civil War, criticizes Gen. McClellan, mentions speech by a man named Train “to a large secret meeting of Irishmen in London,” in connection with British hostility to American Govt. policies. [Filed here because writing, style, and context indicate him as author]
