Letters to Samuel Morris [n.p.]. Columbus, New Jersey, West Haverford, and various points along the Northern Mississippi. Includes three undated notes and one dated only Oct. 29. March 31, 1847 to October 12, 1865. [Tells of his life on a farm in New Jersey, discusses reopening of Haverford, describes visit to Joseph Bonaparte's home in Bordentown, discusses at length his journeys into the upper Mississippi with a geological survey including maps, discusses further travels in upstate New York and the Midwest, comments on the plight of the Indigenous Americans being pushed ever further westward, notes reputation of William Penn among them. Undated letters refer to studies and occupations of his school days.]
