Biographical / Historical
The proposal was prepared for the American Friends Service Committee, reporting on …considered U. S.-China relations "from a Quaker point of view," "in terms of ethical and human values as well as in terms of economic interest and political power." (vii) It called for "a change in American policy to help restore communication with the Chinese." (viii).
