Phillips Bradley was a history professor at Amherst College and convinced Friend. In 1929 Wood suggests him as a possible President for Earlham. He was the grandÂnephew of Wendell Phillips (abolitionist), his mother was Sarah Phillips Bradley, and his father was Edward E. Bradley, who worked at Hampton.
