Newbold Hough Trottter ethics notebook
One volume of Newbold Hough Trotter's notes on ethics for a class at Haverford College. The notes are from a course in ethics by Daniel B. Smith, which was conducted in 1843, and detail several ethical discourses prominent at the time.
Thomas Wildes commonplace book
The Thomas Wildes commonplace book contains a variety of texts written, or copied, by Thomas Wildes. It is over 140 pages long and it was created in 1856, after Wildes had entered Haverford College.
Nelson A. White diaries
The Nelson A. White collection contians five diaries dated from 1922 to 1932. The five volumes are written in Wanamaker diaries and are detailed with historical, astrological, and meteorological information between each diary entry.
Francis Barton Gummere songbook and notebooks
The Francis Barton Gummere songbook and notebooks consists of three volumes of papers created by Gummere. There is a songbook created during his time at Haverford College in addition to his notebooks on Germanic life and the philosphy of Baruch Spinoza.
Marriott Canby Morris autograph album and scrapbook
The scrapbook contains materials concerning Morris's time at Haverford College and documentation surrounding reunions, alumni events, his classmates and professors, and other developments at Haverford. The autograph album includes the signatures, hometowns, and class years of members of Haverford present during Morris's collegiate years.
John C. Whitehead papers
John C. Whitehead was a long-time member of Haverford's Board of Managers and Co-Chairman of Goldman Sachs. Materials in this collection represent his time as a student at Haverford, as well as his continued involvement with the College over the years.
Henry Hale Graham Sharpless commonplace book
The Henry Hale Graham Sharpless commonplace book was created during Sharpless' time at Haverford College. Sharpless graduated class of 1840, but the book notes many written records and excerpts during 1839 in his junior year. The book contains carving prints from various artists paired with excerpts hand written by Sharpless himself.
John Randolph Winslow commonplace book
The commonplace book was created while Winslow was attending Haverford College. Winslow entered the college in 1838 in the Junior class, and transcribed many songs during his time there. Handwritten notes and excerpts can be found in the songbook as well. The book ends in 1840, presumably when Winslow graduated. He later went on to become a professor, physician, and surgeon in Baltimore, Maryland.
David Holder Nichols autograph album
David Holder Nichols produced an autograph album of faculty and peers during his time at Haverford. The album contains many pictures and signatures of his graduating class.
Edwin Tomlinson autograph album
The Edwin Tomlinson autograph album contains signatures and selected quotes from students at Haverford College from 1858 to 1859. The album was compiled by Tomlinson, who later left Haverford College to become a farmer. The signatures within the album range from Tomlinson's peers to the officers above him.
