The Scarlet
Scope and Contents
Contains issues of The Scarlet, a student humor magazine from 1914 to 1916. The magazine was scheduled to be published monthly on the first of each month. Historical note
Begun in December, 1914, The Scarlet defined itself as being interested in "clean, wholesome humor" and noted that its purpose was to "foster the sarcastic spirit among the undergraduates and to provide an organ for the discussion of questions not relative to college life and policy." They accepted submissions from the student body, which were revised by the editoral board.
