Haverford Classical Club playbills and advertisements
Scope and Contents
This collection is a selection of stage play materials from the Haverford Classical Club of plays that they had performed between 1924 and 1926. The plays, all translated to English, in this collection are "Rudens or The Shipwreck" (1924), "Adelphoe or The Brothers" (1925), and "Aulularia or The Pot of Gold" (1926). Each play has two cards advertising when and where the play will be performed, as well as the cost of admission. One of the two cards for "Aulularia or The Pot of Gold" (1926) has postage information on the back of it. Along with these advertisment cards, there are two to four copies of the playbill for each play. The plays are almost exclusively performed by students at the time. Occasionally faculty and alumni appear to also have been cast into roles.
