Haines and Bunting family papers
Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of the papers of the Bunting and Haines families, and includes clippings, correspondence, financial records, legal documents, and marriage certificates of the family. While the majority of materials focus on Samuel Bunting Haines, other members of the family are represented among the materials as well.

Biographical Note
Samuel Bunting Haines (1840-1863) was born on November 19, 1840, the son of Josiah Lippencott Haines (1811-1892) and Deborah Bunting Haines (1819-1900). Haines enlisted in Company B, Pennsylvania 121st Infantry Regiment on August 16, 1862. He died at an army camp near Bell Plain, Virginia, on February 23, 1863, and was buried on March 4, 1863, in Philadelphia.

Acquisition
The Haines and Bunting family papers were donated to Special Collections, Haverford College in 1987 by Laura Dickinson.
Seperated Materials
Removed to Lockwood Inventory: Attire and Accessories, box 7: Linen pillowcase that belonged to Samuel Bunting and Deborah Middleton and a Quaker dress that belonged to the donor's ancestor.
