James S. Lippincott bibliographies
Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of the two handwritten volumes of bibliographies compiled by James Starr Lippincott. The first volume is entitled "A Bibliography of the Writings of Members of the Society of Friends in America," and the second is entitled "A Collection of Historical Notes: List of Quaker essayists."

Biographical Note
James Starr Lippincott (1819-1885) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 12, 1819, the son of John Lippincott and Sarah Starr. He married first Susan Howarth Ecroyd, and later married Anne Esheppard. He died on March 17, 1885, in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
