Biographical Note

Esther Fisher Wistar (1818-1900) was born on September 26, 1818, the daughter of Hannah Logan Fisher and James Smith. Wistar was born a Quaker, and her mother, Hannah Logan Fisher, was a minister of Arch Street Meeting. On December 13, 1838, Wistar married Dr. Mifflin Wistar. Wistar died on April 12, 1900, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Acquisition

The Esther Fisher Wistar commonplace book was donated to Special Collections, Haverford College in 2014 by David M. Morris, and released by Christian Higgins, Independence National Historical Park.
