Biographical Note
Rachel Scattergood (1832-1903) was born on July 3, 1832, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Scattergood, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rachel was the eldest child of Joseph and Mary Scattergood, and their only daughter. In 1873, Rachel Scattergood married Edward Maris. Rachel Scattergood died on January 4, 1903, at age 70.
