Historical Note
17 people graduated with the Haverford College Class of 1888, and 16 additional people were a part of the class at one point but did not graduate with them. The cremation ceremony took place at Haverford throughout the late nineteenth-century when the sophomore class burned the most hated textbook in a ritualistic ceremony.
