Scope and Contents

This collection contains a typed manuscript of "History of Haverford College Cricket" written by Archibald Hunter Graham in 1926. It recounts the history of cricket at Haverford College, listing students who were on the team and detailing some of the important matches. In the end of the volume there is a letter to J. Henry Scattergood from July 14, 1931 from C.M.M. (possibly Charles Chistopher Morrris, Class of 1904). The letter explains that C.M.M. is returning the History of Haverford College Cricket volume, and that if the manuscript is to be made into a book, there would have to be changes. There is also a note that explains that Archibald Hunter Graham graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1895 and wrote a history of cricket at that instutution as well.

Biographical / Historical

Archibald Hunter Graham (1875-1943) was a physician and cricket enthusiast. He studied medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson Medical College. In 1911 he married Grace Darling Watson and they had four children. Graham and his brothers were prominent cricket players, and he wrote multiple books about the history of cricket, at Haverford, the University of Pennsylvania, and Philadephia.
