Thomas Stewardson entered Haverford in 1841, and left with the temporary closing of the Insitution in 1845. (From the original MS volume in the hands of William L. Hires, Haverford College Class of 1941, purchased by him from a dealer in Atlantic City. The leather-bound volume in which the "Recollections" were written and letters laid in was apparently an old record book of a court clerk, 1822 and 1823, with the new material written in wherever there was space. T.E.D. 22.IV.1948). There is also correspondence within the volume. Some of the topics he discusses include: the Loganian Society, food, academics, insect collecting, and other reflections about life at Haverford College.
