Scope and Contents
The first scrapbook (1888-1900) is a collection of material from immediately after Scattergood graduated from Haverford College. This includes newspaper clippings, primarily regarding sports, invitations to athletic events, glee club performances, junior class exercises, and graduations. Additionally, there are materials from alumni association events, for both Haverford College and Forsythe School. There are also a number of small pictures from his time at Haverford. The second scrapbook also has numberous athletics clippings and invitations. Additionally, there are letters and pictures from numerous European destination (i.e. London, Amsterdam). Materials from Harvard Club and the Pennsylvania Forestry Association are also present.

Biographical / Historical
Alfred Garrett Scattergood was born in Moorestown, NJ on September 10, 1878 to Thomas Scattergood and Sarah Garrett. He lived in Philadelphia, PA when he entered Haverford College in 1984. During his time there, he served as Vice President of Class (Junior year), President of Class (Senior year), President of the Athletic Association (1897-1898), President of the Football Association (1897-1898), Treasurer of the Cricket Club (1895-1896), Captain of Class Football Team (Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year), and Captain of Class Cricket Team (Senior year). He graduated in 1898, enrolling at Harvard Univeristy from 1898-1899. Immediately post-graduation, he worked as a clerk in Philadelphia.
