Scope and Contents In 1917, Isaac Sharpless, was requested (possibly by Peace Committee of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting) to form a commission to report at a peace conference in London at the close of the war on the position of Friends in regard to war and specifically the implication of the testimony in national life and international relations.
