An peace pipe presented to Colonel Henry Maynadier by Chutaha Tauka on May 23, 1866. Subsequently presented to Thomas Wistar by Maynadier at Fort Laramie, Whyoming, on June 28, 1866. Wrapped in braided porcupine quill, sinew, thread, and dyed horsehair, according to researcher David McAlester, who recommends a 2001 film about Lacota quillwork. Inscribed.
