 Item — item: Album 29a

Scope and Contents

The Henrietta Magoffin scrapbook houses “The Girl Graduate, Her Own Book” scrapbook by Henrietta Magoffin, Bryn Mawr College class of 1911. The scrapbook covers the years from 1907-1914, and contains a lot of well-organized Bryn Mawr-related and personal memorabilia.

The collection consists of one scrapbook. There are many typed song lyrics and articles from The College News as well as official Bryn Mawr correspondence and many calling cards. Articles contained about BMC tend to be humorous ones, and there are a few articles related to the Christian Association. The scrapbook has pre-made section titles. Highlights of the scrapbook include many photographs; a list of library rules from 1911; a selection from the 1909 class play “Everyfreshman;” and a Bryn Mawr College Handbook from 1907.

The scrapbook is a good overview of Bryn Mawr student life during the early 1900s and would be of value to anyone interested in Bryn Mawr history during this time.
