Abstract The Chinese Scholarship Committee was established by Professor Lucy Martin Donnelly in 1916, to provide Chinese women an education who could not otherwise obtain one in China. Alma A. Clarke papers

Clarke was an American who volunteered in World War I helping French orphans through the Committee France-America for the Protection of the Children of the Frontier and as a Red Cross Auxiliary Nurse in the American Red Cross Military Hospital No. 1 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Louise Congdon (Balmer) scrapbook

Abstract

Louise Congdon spent her freshman year at Northwestern University, and graduated from Bryn Mawr wtih mahors in both French and Latin. She later moved to La Jolla, California, and in 1926 founded what is now La Jolla County Day School. The Louise Congdon scrapbook houses the Congdon's college scrapbook. The scrapbook covers the years 1904-1908, and contains characteristic Bryn Mawr memorabilia: programs, invitations, BMC-related clippings, some SGA-related materials, etc.

Elizabeth Congdon (Barron) scrapbook

Abstract

Elizabeth Congdon graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1902. She was a passionate horticulturalist and directed Food Conservation and Victory Garden efforts in Alleghany County, Pennsylvania during both world wars. The Elizabeth Congdon scrapbook collection houses Congdon's two scrapbooks. The scrapbooks, which cover 1898-1901 and 1901-1902 respectively, document Congdon’s social life at Bryn Mawr, as well as many off-campus events.

Joseph Conrad collection

Abstract

Joseph Conrad (1857-1924), a novelist and short story writer, was born Jozef Konrad Teodor Korzeniowski in Berdichev, Ukraine, and became a British citizen in 1886. Best known for his short story "Heart of Darkness" (1902), Conrad also wrote a number of novels on his travels. The collection includes letters from Conrad and third party letters, as well as three corrected typescript drafts.

Constance “Zinnia” Maravell papers
