Nelson and Marian to family, 1957

Letters contain mostly family news, but in June Nelson attended France Yearly Meeting at Centre in Paris. Small group but very involved in Quaker concerns and North Africa. Later in the summer, the family traveled in Europe and attend German Yearly Meeting in Eisenach, DDR, and visited the Tackes in Berlin. Nelson visited the U.S. in late August while the rest of the family stayed in Birmingham, England. Nelson was invited to stay an additional year as a visiting lecturer and research associate, paid by the French Educational Ministry.
