Lucretia Mott discusses news of friends and family, including her nieces Ellen Wright Garrison, who was recently married, and Anna Coffin Temple Brown, who is travelling in Europe with her family. Mott briefly mentions a visit from Joseph and Ruth Dugdale and from an Iowa preacher named Bennet Walters. She also mentions her letter-writing, as well as a recent meeting "called to organize an asylum" for elderly African-American women. Very briefly discusses James Miller McKim and William Lloyd Garrison's increasing partiality towards Abraham Lincoln.
