4 pages. Lucretia Mott letter to Martha Mott Lord and Anna Coffin Temple Brown. Written from Roadside. Lucretia Mott writes about different family members who are travelling around the county. She discusses Swarthmore College, to which there have already been 60 applicants, writes that the South is turning "upon the poor Chinese," and states that "we ought to hail all newcomers to our vast country." Includes a sketch made by Thomas Parrish (1847-1899).
