Scope and Contents
4 pages. Lucretia Mott letter to Martha Mott Lord. Written from Roadside. Lucretia Mott talks about recent activities of family and friends. She discusses Anna Davis Hallowell's depression and her parents' efforts to keep it secret; in her opinion it is "a mistaken idea that mental disturbances must not be spoken of and treated as other ills." She talks about going to the wedding of William Still's daughter to a man who was formerly enslaved (William Still was an abolitionist whose parents had formerly been enslaved). Many prominent abolitionists were at the wedding, including Robert Purvis, Passmore Williamson, and Mary Grew.
