Scope and Contents
Describing the meeting at Buffalo Creek between a missionary of the Boston Missionary Society and the chiefs of the Six Nations, during which the Seneca chief Red Jacket rejects his precept of only one religion, but say they will wait to see if the missionary’s preaching to their white neighbors "makes them honest and less disposed to cheat Indians." Gift of Mrs. W. Henry Brinton, 1975.
