Stored with AV COllection: DVD copy of a 16 mm film, "The Road Ahead." This film done by the Community Development Film Unit (1962), and lists in the credits David Giltrow as having a role in its filming and production. Dave was one of the original VISA-Tanganyika I volunteers, but stayed on for a third year (1961-64). He writes (to Garry, 25 March) the following about "The Road Ahead": "Besides being a well-crafted film, 'The Road Ahead' has probably one of the only films with a VV doing what the program was supposed to do. It was seen throughout the United Republic of Tanganyika and Zanzibar through mobile cinema vans and other distribution outlets such as TANU [Tanganyika African National Union]." In the film, the VISA volunteer he mentions shown at work is Garry Thomas. Half way through the film, there is a segment on the Singida hand-dug well project.
