Scope and Contents
Thomas was an older brother of Edward G. Smedley and married Philena Yarnall, daughter of Albin and Philena Hibberd Yarnall, in 1855 under the care of Middletown Monthly Meeting. His letters to Philena before their marriage include Quaker and household news. Thomas attended Yearly Meeting 1853 and Nottingham Monthly Meeting. Guardian account for Philena, 1828-1854.
