The collection is open for research.

General

Transcribed material and reference photocopies are organized by topic. The folders are maintained in the order in which they were cataloged by John R. Ward (1958-1998) who was employed as a historical researcher for four years at the Woodlawn Trust until his sudden death at age 39. He was a 1983 graduate of Bowdoin College, an art history and history major, and worked for various newspapers.

Richenda C. "Chenda" Davison was hired to continue referencing and cataloging John Ward's research work and transcriptions. In 2001, she created an index of the files which were stored in filing cabinets at Woodlawn until 2022 when the papers were boxed and given to Friends Historical Library.
