Parrish family papers

Abstract Collection of family papers includes letters received by Abraham Scott, 1700-1704, a volume containing copies of letters written by George Dillwyn in relation to his wife's inheritance of part of the estate of Richard Hill, Hannah Moore, and Henry Hill, including a house in Madeira, 1799-1816, and an almanac with notations by Captain John Hollitt. Joseph Tallcot correspondence

Abstract

Contains five letters from Quaker educator Joseph Talcot, including one to New York Yearly Meeting for Sufferings and five to Samuel Parsons (1744-1841), long-time elder and clerk of New York Yearly Meeting. The letters deal with concerns of the Meeting for Suffering and providing literature to Friends in remote quarterly meetings.

Evans family correspondence

This collection includes photocopies of letters from Joseph and Hannah Evans addressed to their children William, Joseph, and Mary, while they attended Westtown Boarding School. Also included are letters from William Evans to his parents, and from Joseph Evans to his brother. These letters primarily relate family news.

William Poole letters to Benjamin Ferris

Abstract

This collection includes photocopies and typed transcripts of letters from William Poole to his relation, Benjamin Ferris. The letters primarily concern the Letters of Paul and Amicus, by Primitive Friend, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Poole's views on the issues of Quaker doctrine, including the divinity of Christ and baptism. Poole also relates his opinions on Elias Hicks and the developing controversy in New York.

Stanton relating to the American Anti-Slavery Society, from Thomas Garrett concerning arrangements for transportation and placement of emancipated and self-emancipated people, and from William Still about a visit and lecture by William Wells Brown.
