Collections of still photographic types, including paper prints, cased photographs, glass plates, and slides. Historically, when processing a collection, FHL staff have often removed the photographs from the manuscript portion (e.g. RG4 organizational records or RG5 family or personal papers) and stored them as an associated PA photographs collection. FHL staff have also assembled alphabetical files by topic, such as the Meetinghouse Picture File.

De Armand Family Album

Overview

This collection consists of a family album of cartes de visite depicting prominent Friends and members of various Quaker families. The album seemed to belong to William Webster, whose family immigrated to Woodbridge, New Jersey circa 1685 and who helped in the development of Plainfield, New Jersey and the Plainfield Meeting House in the late 1700s.

Overview

Elmore Jackson was a Quaker heavily involved in international relations, both through the American Friends Service Committee and through the United Nations. This collection contains photographs from both his professional life and his personal life.

George B. Jackson family photographs

Overview

George B. Jackson, Swarthmore College Class of 1921, was a businessman and a member of New York Monthly Meeting. His grandfather, William Morris Jackson, was a Quaker businessman, reformer, and Trustee of Swarthmore College. This collection contains portraits of various Jackson family members, alongside a few miscellaneous photographs, all black and white.
