Historically, when processing a collection, FHL staff have often removed the photographs from the manuscript portion (e.g. RG4 organizational records or RG5 family or personal papers) and stored them as an associated PA photographs collection. FHL staff have also assembled alphabetical files by topic, such as the Meetinghouse Picture File.

Miller-Stabler family photographs

Overview

Cornelia Schmidt (b. 1924) is the daughter of Eleanor Stabler and William A. Clarke. Eleanor Stabler's father was Charles Stabler (1853-1903) who married Ida Palmer (1875-1966). He was the son of Francis and Cornelia Miller Stabler. This collection contains family portraits and pictures, both loose and on board, and a glass plate (fragile).

Overview

This collection contains miscellaneous photographs, engravings, illustrations, and other images, acquired over time from various sources by the Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. The bulk is individual portraits of Quakers, with a few non-Quakers mixed in. There are also some group portraits of Quaker families and Quaker organizations.

Roy Moger. New York Yearly Meeting photographs

This collection contains personal photographs taken by Roy Moger of places, persons, and events concerning New York Yearly Meeting in the 1960s. Of special interest are photographs of the meeeting houses, the March on Washington and a Memorial for the Children of Birmingham.

Moore-Tyson family photographs

The Moores and Tysons were Maryland Quaker families. Prominent family members include abolitionist Elisha Tyson, George Ellicott of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Swarthmore College founder Martha Ellicott Tyson.

Morrell Family Album

Overview

This collection consists of a large family album of tintypes, cabinet cards, and cartes de visite depicting members of the Morrell family. The Morrell family was a prominent land-holding family in Kittery and North Berwick, Maine. John Morrell settled the area circa 1676 and was a Quaker at a time when Friends were persecuted; nevertheless, he and his descendents continued their association with the Society of Friends.

Anna Wharton Morris family photographs

Overview Anna Wharton Morris was the youngest daughter of Joseph Wharton, prominent Philadelphia industrialist and philanthropist. She was a birthright member of the Society of Friends, active in prison reform and other social reform movements of her day, and was a profilic writer, primarily of short stories and essays. New York Quarterly Meeting Workroom Committee photographs

Overview The Workroom, a project of the 15th Street and 20th Street New York Monthly Meetings, was established in 1940 by the Joint Peace and Service Committee of the New York Monthly Meetings.
